This Is My Story

No matter what brought you here, I am truly grateful to meet you. My name is CC. I am a woman shaped by survival, truth, and the long shadow of trauma that began when I was just three years old. My story opens on a night that never left me.

I remember my mother calling out for me in desperation, telling me to run to the neighbors as my father descended into a violent rage. Chaos filled the house. Fear lived in every corner. That night ended with escape — we fled on bicycles, my mother slept on the attic floor, and I lay beside her, a child seeking comfort in a world that no longer felt safe. That moment did not end when the sun rose. It shaped everything that came after.

Chapter One

The Father Wound

As I grew older, I began to understand the concept of the father wound — the deep psychological imprint left by an absent, emotionally unavailable, and unsafe father. That wound followed me quietly into adulthood. It showed up in the relationships I chose. In the treatment I tolerated. In how often I confused intensity with love, and abandonment with familiarity.

I accepted the unacceptable. I stayed too long. I searched for approval in places where it would never be given. Not because I was weak — but because part of me was still that little girl, trying to earn the love she never received. Healing is not a straight line. It is messy, confronting, and deeply human.

Domestic Violence

That unresolved father wound made me vulnerable in ways I did not yet understand. It is how I ended up in the hands of a narcissist — a young man who did not love me, but studied me. What looked like affection was control. What felt like intensity was manipulation. What I believed was love was, in reality, the beginning of captivity. Narcissists do not arrive as monsters. They arrive as answers.

During a trip to Morocco, the mask fell completely. I was isolated, controlled, and stripped of autonomy. I was kidnapped — not by strangers, but by someone I trusted. Psychological violence turned into physical danger. There were moments where I genuinely believed I would not survive.

He almost killed me.

"Trauma thrives in silence. Truth sets us free. What happened to you matters — and it was never your fault."

"I am a domestic violence survivor living with a mask for years. CC's story brought me some sort of peace and closure. It's the help and words I was looking for, for years. She is the voice many women are afraid to use."
